Sayings On Change
At certain times in our lives sayings on change
can have a real impact. This is especially true when you or someone you
know is making a big life change such as retirement. Not everyone
is so accepting of this change as others and we all have to realize
this. So when you are sending your wishes to someone who is retiring,
why not add in a quote about change. You never know, it may be exactly
what they are needing to read. Below are some of my favourite quotes and
some of my thoughts about that particular quote.
If you don't like
something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think
Many of us have things in our lives we donít like. And most of us when
thinking of it worry, or feel very negatively towards it. Some of it can
be changed, but some canít be. These things we do not like will be a
part of our lives forever. So instead of always feeling angry or sad
about it, why not find the good in it and change your thoughts. Think of
it in a positive way and youíll be surprised at the way youíll look at
All changes, even the most longed for, have
their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we
must die to one life before we can enter another.
My explanation of this quote in relation to retirement is that no matter
how much we are waiting for retirement to come, when it gets here we can
be scared, unsure or even a little unwilling. We will be leaving behind
what weíve done for the past 20, 30 or 40 somewhat years and pretty much
starting over. This is definitely something to be intimidated of. And
that's okay as that was who we are. So going from one life to another,
is similar to dying in a way. We are leaving one life and starting
Change always comes bearing gifts.
No matter what change we are in store for, good or bad, there will
always be positive and negative things associated with it. This is the
balance of life. What we need to keep in mind is to focus on the
positive things and not on the negative. This will make change a much
more enjoyable venture.
We did not change as we grew older; we just
became more clearly ourselves.
I completely agree with this quote. Most of us whine and hate the
thought of growing old but as we grow we are only finding out who we
are. If we stopped growing old at a young age, yes we might have great
skin with no wrinkles, but would you feel as if you were all you were
going to be? I know I wouldnít. Every day I feel as if Iíve learned one
more thing about myself. And I wouldnít want to stop finding these
things out now. I want to know all that I can and that will come with
Life can either be accepted or changed. If it
is not accepted, it must be changed. If it cannot be changed, then it
must be accepted.
This saying pretty much says it all. In our lives many of us donít like
many things. But we live with it, donít do anything to better the
situation and then wonder why we are not happy. We must take the
responsibility upon ourselves to change what is necessary in order to
live a happy and healthy life. So donít just live with it, change it.
